Active Shooter Situation at Dundee Crown High School
Currently, there is a heavy police presence at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville, Illinois due to unconfirmed reports of an active shooter with shots fired near or inside the school. Multiple authorities, including SWAT, are on the scene.
However, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Superintendent Susan Harkin have issued reassuring statements that there is no incident occurring inside or outside the building and that all students and staff are safe and under district and building supervision. The lockdown was instituted as a precautionary measure.
