Amtrak Derailment at Union Station in Washington, DC

An Amtrak train derailed inside a tunnel just before Union Station in Washington, DC. Two cars derailed but remained upright. The incident occurred at Union Station, located at 50 Mass Ave. N.E.

The train was occupied with approximately 230 passengers at the time of the derailment. Initial reports indicate that there were no major injuries. Special Operations is currently working to evacuate passengers from the train.
