King County Sheriff’s Office Detective Shot While Serving Eviction Notice

Three King County Sheriff’s Office detectives were serving an eviction notice in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood when one of them was shot on Monday morning. The suspect barricaded himself inside the residence and was later found dead inside. According to the Independent Force Investigation Team (IFIT) press release, the detectives contacted the suspect before the gunfire was exchanged. The injured detective was taken to Harborview Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

The shooting incident caused a large police response in the area, leading to the closure of several streets in the neighborhood for an extended period of time on Monday morning. The Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the name of the detective who was shot.
