Man Shot by Police in Northeast Columbus After Firing at Officers

A man is in critical condition after being shot by police in northeast Columbus early Saturday morning. According to the Columbus Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunshots being fired into a building on the 4000 block of East Dublin Granville Road at around 12:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, police saw the man outside a business with a gun and he began firing shots at the officers. Police returned fire, and the man was hit. He was given medical aid by police on the scene before medics arrived and transported him to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Police Responded to Reports of Gunshots Being Fired into a Building

The incident is under investigation, and the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, as is standard protocol.
