Armed Cop-Impersonator Shoots at Lawmakers’ Homes in Minnesota

Police in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, confirmed a white male suspect dressed in police gear carried out targeted shootings at the homes of Democratic lawmakers. At least three people were shot across two locations—Champlin and Brooklyn Park. Authorities have issued a strict shelter-in-place order in a 3-mile radius around Edinburgh Golf Course, warning residents: do not answer the door unless two verified officers approach.

Victims Shot in Multiple Incidents

The first attack occurred shortly after 2 a.m. at State Senator John Hoffman’s home in Champlin, wounding two individuals. Seconds later, in nearby Brooklyn Park near the Edinburgh Golf Course, a man inside a residence was shot multiple times. The suspect remains at large.

Suspect Description and Public Safety Notice

Brooklyn Park police identified the suspect as a white male with brown hair, wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and pants. He may falsely claim law enforcement identity. Authorities urge complete caution and recommend residents verify officers via 911 before interacting. The armed suspect is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Official Response and Ongoing Search

Governor Tim Walz is monitoring the situation closely. Local and state law enforcement, including the Department of Public Safety, are coordinating to track the suspect and secure the area. Police continue to urge anyone with information to call 911.
