National Zoo Evacuated After Bomb Threat

The Smithsonian National Zoo in Northwest D.C. has been evacuated out of precaution after a reported bomb threat via email on Tuesday, according to authorities. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported that the threat was received at approximately 10:42 a.m.

Police have responded to the situation and are currently investigating the threat. The safety of visitors and staff is of utmost importance and all necessary precautions are being taken.
