Girard Man Fatally Shot in Officer-Involved Incident in Brookfield Township
On Tuesday morning, tragedy struck when a 50-year-old man from Girard, Ohio, was shot dead in an officer-involved shooting in Brookfield Township. According to reports, the man, identified as Fred H. Wild III, was alleged to be criminally trespassing on private property when the police were called. When the officers arrived, Wild jumped into the driver’s seat of a stolen pickup truck with a snowplow attached and attempted to flee.
In an attempt to evade the officers, Wild reportedly charged at them with the stolen vehicle, resulting in multiple officers firing their weapons and striking Wild. Despite the efforts of first responders, Wild was pronounced dead on the scene.
