Early on the morning of April 24th, Pittsburgh police attempted to rescue a woman and child in Arlington, after the woman called 911 claiming that she was being held against her will in a vehicle. During the rescue attempt, an officer-involved shooting occurred and a person was shot. The person who was shot is now reported to be stable. The incident is currently under investigation by the Pittsburgh Police Department.

According to Pittsburgh Police, the rescue attempt took place in the 300 block of Rochelle Street, in the Arlington neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The woman who called 911 did not identify her location beyond stating that she was in a vehicle. The police were able to locate the vehicle, but during the rescue attempt, an officer-involved shooting occurred, leaving one person injured.
