Large Police Response at Tesla Factory in Austin, Texas Amid Reports of Shooting

Police in Texas on Friday investigated a 911 call reporting an active shooter at the Tesla Gigafactory plant in Austin, Texas. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the emergency call at about 5 a.m. local time.

However, after clearing the large plant, police found no shooter, threat or injuries. The call turned out to be a false alarm. Workers inside the plant had received an email warning them of an active attacker and instructing them to take cover.

Workers Evacuated, Traffic Issues Reported

The nature of the phone call, including where it came from and who placed it, is currently being investigated by police.
