Two Israeli Soldiers Injured in Drive-by Shooting in the West Bank
The Israeli military has reported that two soldiers were injured, one severely, in a drive-by shooting in the Palestinian town of Hawara in the West Bank. This is the third attack to take place in Hawara within a month, with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claiming responsibility for the attack. Hamas has praised the attack, stating that the resistance in the West Bank can surprise the occupation every time.
The violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem has escalated in recent months amid Israeli arrest raids in Palestinian-controlled areas and a string of Palestinian attacks. To defuse tensions, U.S.-backed regional efforts have led to Israeli and Palestinian officials meeting in Jordan and Egypt, respectively. The hope was to prevent further escalation during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Stone-throwing youths protesting the incursions and innocent people have also been killed, in addition to militants. This ongoing conflict highlights the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian situation and the need for a peaceful resolution.
