Fatal Shooting at McDonald’s in Orange Mound

Tragedy struck the Orange Mound community early Monday morning when a woman was shot and killed at a local McDonald’s restaurant.

According to the Memphis Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at 1472 S Trezevant at 1:58 a.m. and found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was detained, but no further details have been released.

This shooting is part of a string of violence that occurred over the weekend, with five shootings occurring between Sunday evening and Monday morning. MPD tweeted three shootings in separate locations between 5:41 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. Sunday, with three victims in critical condition.

Another fatal shooting occurred at 2:45 a.m. on the 2600 block of Pojest Drive in Frayser, where one man was pronounced dead at the scene.

MPD Investigates Ongoing Investigation as One of Five Shootings

The MPD is actively investigating these incidents and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
